Derma Smoothe FS (Fluocinolone acetonide) is a prescription oil. The scalp oil is used to treat scalp psoriasis and the eczema oil is used to treat atopic dermatitis. Fluocinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid and has an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect. This medication works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. It reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that occur with this condition.

The common side effects of Derma Smoothe FS may include:
• Burning, dryness, mild skin itch or other irritation;
• Changes in color of the treated skin;
• Crusting of treated skin, blisters or pimples;
• Fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose;
• Red spots or the appearance of tiny veins;
• Skin rash or irritation around your mouth;
• Swollen hair follicles;
• Temporary hair loss
Stop using Derma Smoothe FS and called your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects such as:
• Blurred vision or headache;
• Fatigue or muscle weakness;
• Mood changes;
• Thinning skin or easy bruising;
• Weight gain, puffiness in your face
Do not use Derma Smoothe FS if you are allergic to Fluocinolone. This medication contains peanut oil; tell your doctor if you have a peanut allergy. You should also inform your doctor if you have any type of skin infection or if you have diabetes. You should not use Derma Smoothe FS to treat any skin condition that has not been checked by your doctor. Tell your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, OTC, herbal products and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Fluocinolone and other medications. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Children can absorb larger amounts of this medication through the skin which may cause side effects or delay growth if used for a long time. Tell your doctor if you think your child is not growing at a normal rate while using this medication.
