Demadex (Torsemide) is a prescription medication used to treat extra fluid in the body caused by conditions such as heart failure, liver disease and kidney disease. It lessens the symptoms such as shortness of breath and swelling in your arms, legs and abdomen. This medication is also used to treat high blood pressure. Torsemide belongs to a class of drugs known as diuretics or water pills. It works by causing your kidney to excrete more water and electrolytes, including sodium chloride. This medication is a water pill that causes you to make more urine which helps your body to get rid of extra water and salt.

The common side effects of Demadex may include dizziness and headache. This medication may cause a serious loss of body water and salt or minerals.

Inform your doctor right away if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects such as:
