Cystoplus (Sodium Citrate Powder) is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve the symptoms of urinary tract infections, including burning pain and stinging in women with this condition. Urinary tract infection is a bacterial infection of the kidney, bladder (cystitis), urethral (urethritis), and the ureter. The active substance in Cystoplus is Sodium Citrate Powder. Sodium citrate is an alkalizing agent which decreases the acidity of the urine. It works by raising urine pH (making the urine less acidic), which helps reduce the pain associated with cystitis.
