Cordarone (Amiodarone) is a prescription medication used to control fast or irregular heartbeat. A fast or irregular heartbeat occurs when electric signals that tell the heart to beat properly do not work appropriately. Cordarone is used to restore the normal heart rhythm and maintain a regular and steady heartbeat. The active ingredient in Cordarone is Amiodarone. Amiodarone belongs to a class of medications called anti-arrhythmic drugs. It works by blocking certain electrical signals in the heart, causing an irregular heartbeat.
