Clinpro 5000 Anti-Cavity Toothpaste (1.1% Sodium Flouride) is an over the counter toothpaste used to help prevent cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease, and to provide gentle, effective cleaning. This toothpaste can also help strengthen tooth enamel, plaque bacteria from teeth and gums, decrease painful tooth sensitivity, and prevent acid wear and erosion from damaging the teeth. Clinpro 5000 may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Clinpro 5000 contains a high concentration of sodium fluoride, a naturally occurring mineral. Fluoride helps to prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It helps by replenishing the calcium and phosphorus that keep your teeth hard and protected. This process is called remineralization. Clinpro 5000 is typically used as part of a professional program for people at high risk of cavities to prevent and control tooth decay. It is usually used once a day just before bedtime in place of your conventional toothpaste unless instructed otherwise by your doctor or dentist. To use, apply a thin ribbon or pea-sized amount of Clinpro 5000 to a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush teeth for at least two minutes. After brushing, adults should expectorate. Children 6 to 16 years of age should expectorate and rinse mouth thoroughly with water. For best results, do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after use. Follow these instructions, or use as directed by a dental professional.
