CeeNU (Lomustine) is used in treatment of brain tumors, both primary (developed in brain) and metastatic (spread from another source), and hodgkin's disease lymphoma. It has also been used along with other agents to treat malignant melanoma, lung and breast cancer. CeeNU acts by killing the cancer cells and stops them from dividing. Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. CeeNU should be taken with fluids on an empty stomach; no food or drink for 2 hours after to decrease incidence of nausea and vomiting. The amount of CeeNU that you will receive depends on your height and weight, your general health or other health problems, and the type of cancer or condition being treated. Your doctor will determine your dose and schedule. Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm an unborn baby, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the capsules.
