Biktarvy (Bictegrav/Emtricit/Tenofov Alafenamide Hemifumarate) is prescription medication used to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This medication is a combination of three different drugs Bictegravir, Emtricitabine, and Tenofovir Alafenamide. Bictarvy lowers your chance of getting HIV complications and improves your quality of life. This medication is a single tablet regimen for HIV. It contains Bictegravir (integrase inhibitor), Tenofovir Alafenamide (nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor) and Emtricitabine (nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor). Biktarvy works by interfering with enzymes needed by HIV. It reduces HIV’s ability to infect cells and make copies of itself. Biktarvy is one pill taken once a day to treat HIV.
