Bezalip (Bezafibrate) is a prescription medication used to treat high cholesterol and high to very high levels of fats in the blood. This drug is used with other treatments like a low-fat diet, exercise, and weight loss to lower levels of fats in the blood. The active ingredient in Bezalip is Bezafibrate. Bezafibrate belongs to a class of drugs called fibrates. It works by decreasing low-density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol) and increasing high-density lipoproteins.

Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. You should not become pregnant while using Bezafibrate. Bezafibrate may harm the unborn baby. Use effective contraceptives when taking this drug if you can become pregnant. It is unknown if Bezalip passes into breast milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment without talking to your doctor. Bezalip may make you feel dizzy. Do not drive or operate machinery when using this drug. Use Bezalip and all medicines exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow Bezalip whole with water after food. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, except it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Keep Bezafibrate out of reach and sight of children. Do not store this drug above 250C (770F).
