Betagan eye drops (Levobunolol) is a prescription eye drop used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma or other eye diseases. Levobunolol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta blockers. This medication works by decreasing the amount of fluid production within the eye. Lowering high pressure inside the eye helps to prevent blindness.

The common side effects of Betagan eye drops may include:
• Blurred vision;
• Dizziness or weakness;
• Eye discomfort, mild burning or stinging;
• Feeling like something is in your eye;
• Headache;
• Rash or itching
Call your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects such as:
• A light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;
• Bronchospasm;
• Cold feeling or pale appearance of your fingers or toes, numbness;
• Severe swelling, itching, burning, redness, pain or discomfort in or around your eye;
• Slow heart rate or weak pulse
Do not use Betagan eye drops if you are allergic to Levobunolol or if you have a heart condition called "AV block", asthma or copd, slow heartbeats. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history and if you have ever had a thyroid disorder, breathing or heart problems, diabetes, myasthenia gravis, and peripheral vascular disease such as Raynaud's syndrome. Do not drive or do any hazardous activity until your know how this medication will affect you. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, OTC, herbal products and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Levobunolol and other medications.
