Use this medical device precisely as your doctor prescribes. BD Pen Needle for Insulin comes as an injection needle. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water to prevent infection. You may need to prime the insulin pen to remove air bubbles and ensure proper insulin flow. Select your injection site. Common injection sites include the abdomen, thigh, and upper arm. Do not remove the cap from the needle until you are ready to give the injection. Do not recap the needle after the injection. You may accidentally stick yourself trying to recap the needle. Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow it to air dry. Carefully dial the prescribed insulin dose on the insulin pen. Inject the insulin according to your doctor’s instructions.
