Avita (Tretinoin) is a topical medication used to treat acne, smooth rough facial skin, and to reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles and mottled skin discoloration. Avita may also be used for purposes not listed above. Avita belongs to a class of medications called retinoids, and contains a medication called tretinoin, a form of vitamin A. Avita works by affecting the production of skin oils, although the exact process by which the medication works isn't currently known. Avita also works by speeding up skin cell turnover, replacing older skin with newer skin, which leads to a smoother complexion.
