Avamys (Fluticasone Furoate) is a prescription nasal spray used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis that includes itching, runny/stuffy nose, sneezing, and watery, itchy red eyes. Avamys belong to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by reducing swelling in the nasal passages. Avamys is used in patients over the age of 6 years old.

Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to Avamys nasal spray. The common side effects may include nosebleeds, or sores in the nose.

Contact your doctor immediately if you have any of these serious side effects:
• Eye pain or facial pain;
• Painful swallowing;
• Persistent sore throat;
Signs of nasal damage;
• White patches in your nose or back of your throat

Some medications may affect the removal of Fluticasone from your body, which may affect how this medication works. This may include HIV protease inhibitors such as lopinavir, and ritonavir. During pregnancy, this medication should only be used when needed. Discuss the risks with your doctor. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
