Auvelity (Bupropion hydrochloride/ Dextromethorphan hydrobromide) is a prescription medication used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Major Depressive Disorder is a specific type of depression that causes a persistently low or depressed mood and a loss of interest in the activities that you used to enjoy. The active ingredients in Auvelity are Bupropion hydrochloride and Dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide and Bupropion hydrochloride belong to a class of drugs called antidepressants. There may be drug interactions between Auvelity and other medicines, like theophylline, corticosteroids, linezolid, Adderall, losartan, clonazepam, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Auvelity may harm your unborn baby and should not be used in pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Bupropion hydrochloride passes into breast milk and it may affect a nursing infant. Do not breastfeed while using this medicine and for at least 5 days after your last dose. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Auvelity is a tablet. Swallow the tablets whole with water, and do not crush or chew. Take the drug by mouth with or without food. Your blood pressure will need to be checked often when using this drug. Do not stop using Auvelity suddenly without talking to your doctor. Your condition may get worse if the medication is stopped suddenly. Avoid drinking alcohol when using this drug. It may increase your chances of having seizures. Auvelity can cause dizziness. Do not drive or use machinery until you know how the medicine affects you. Store this medicine in its original container at room temperature. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
