Arcalion (Sulbutiamine) is a prescription medication used to treat body asthenia and fatigue. Asthenia is a condition in which there is generalized tiredness and weakness that persists for a long term. The drug enhances athletic performance. The drug has mild stimulant effects. There is insufficient evidence for the use of Arcalion to treat nerve pain in people with diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and erectile dysfunction. The active ingredient in Arcalion is Sulbutiamine. Sulbutiamine belongs to a class of medications called artificial vitamins. It works by increasing thiamine levels in the brain. Sulbutiamine is similar to thiamine (vitamin B1) but dissolves in fats.
