Alphagan P eye drops are used for reducing high pressure in the patients suffering from open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Alphagan P (brimonidine tartrate) eye drops help to reduce the amount of fluid flowing into the eye and increase the amount of fluid flowing out of the eye. This helps to reduce the pressure inside the eye. The usual dose of Alphagan P is one drop in each eye that needs treatment, three times daily, 8 hours apart. Always use the eye drops exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you use contact lenses, then remove them before applying Alphagan P as the eye drops contain a preservative Purite. Wait for at least 15 minutes before putting back the lenses. If you are using other eye drops with Alphagan P, then wait at least 5 minutes between putting Alphagan P and other eye drops. Do not let the tip of the dropper touch anything, as it may contaminate the eye drops.
