Aggrenox (Dipyridamole/ASA) is a prescription medication that is used to reduce the risk of stroke in people who have had blood clots or a mini stroke (TIA). Aggrenox capsule contains 200 mg of dipyridamole and 25 mg of aspirin. Dipuridamole works by keeping the platelets in your blood from sticking together to form clots and Aspirin works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain, fever and inflammation.

We currently have the brand from Canada and UK manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim. The generic Arreno comes from India and is manufactured by Intas Pharma. This medication is available in the strength of 200mg/25mg capsules.
Side effects include:
• Abdominal or stomach pain;
• Bloody mucous or unexplained nosebleeds;
• Difficulty with breathing and speaking;
• Inability to speak;
• Loss of memory;
• Pale skin;
• Tightness in the chest;
• Vomiting
Do not use Aggrenox if you are allergic to aspirin or dipyridamole (Persantine). Do not give Aspirin to a child or teenager who has a fever, flu symptoms or chicken pox. Before you start taking the medication, talk to your doctor about your medical condition and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. This medication can cause harm to an unborn baby. Do not use this medication without informing your doctor if you are pregnant. Aggrenox can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
