Accuretic 20 (Quinapril/HCTZ) is a prescription medication used to treat hypertension. Hypertension or high blood pressure is when the pressure in your blood vessels is too high and can increase your risk of heart, brain, and kidney disease. Accuretic 20 is a combination medicine. The active ingredients in Accuretic 20 are Quinapril and HCTZ. Quinapril belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, allowing the heart to pump blood more efficiently. HCTZ belongs to a class of medications called thiazide-type diuretics. It works by eliminating excess salt and water in the body to control blood pressure.
