Zoloft (Sertraline) is used for the treatment of depression, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This medication works by affecting the chemicals in the brain by increasing the level of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. Increased serotonin levels can help improve mood, reduce panic attacks, and treat OCD.

We currently have the brand from Canada and Turkey manufactured by Viatris, and India manufactured by Pfizer (also known as Daxid or Lustral). The generic comes from Canada (manufactured by Teva), India and UK. This medication is available in the strengths of 25mg, 50mg 100mg tablets and capsules.
Side effects may include:
• Confusion;
• Decreased sexual desire or ability;
• Dry mouth;
• Drowsiness;
• Irregular or slow heartbeat;
• Increase in body movements;
• Nervousness;
• Tremor
You should not use Sertraline if you are allergic to it. Do not use Sertraline if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical condition and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. Inform your doctor right away if you become pregnant while taking sertraline. It is unknown whether sertraline passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby.
