A new study reveals how mice can help to prevent the most dangerous type of skin cancers - melanoma. The scientists have developed a mouse model that can be used for testing effectively of sun screens. Before all the manufactured sunscreens were tested only in human volunteers or synthetic skin. The tests showed that applying 30 SPF sunscreen to mice protects from skin cancer by as much as 80%. It is a very important achievement, as every year about 76000 Americans are diagnosed with melanoma.
