Use of anabolic-androgenic steroids or synthetic testosterone helps to sculpt a well-muscled body much faster, than just by taking physical exercises. Long term of using them leads to very unpleasant and bad side effects. Side effects include: increased body hair, aggressive behaviour, fluid retention, elevated blood pressure, sleeplessness, increased irritability, feelings of low libido, increased sex drive, increased appetite, sweating, increased feeling of well-being, depressive mood states, loss of head hair, and gynaecomastia (enlarged breast tissue in men). However surprisingly there is a positive example of using steroids in animal world. Arctic ground squirrels pumped up on steroids in preparation for hibernation but unlike humans they do it without developing nasty side effects. In arctic squirrels case only their muscles respond to steroids but the rest of their body does not.
Anyway uncontrolled using steroids is very dangerous for both humans and animals (pets). Always consult your doctor first to avoid negative side effects.
