Ventolin Diskus (Salbutamol sulfate) is a prescription medication used to treat and prevent bronchospasm associated with breathing disorders like asthma and chronic bronchitis. Bronchospasms occur when the muscles that line your lung airways tighten. This can result in wheezing and coughing. The active ingredient in Ventolin Diskus is Salbutamol sulfate. Salbutamol sulfate belongs to a class of drugs called fast-acting bronchodilators. It works by helping the airways in the lungs to stay open, making it easier for air to get in and out. Consequently, this relieves chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing.
