Tofranil (Imipramine) is a prescription medication used to treat depression, and is also used with other therapies for the treatment of nighttime bed-wetting in children. This medication helps improve your mood, sleep, appetite, energy level, and help restore your daily living. Tofranil belongs to a class of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. It works by restoring the balance of neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine in the brain. For bed-wetting, this medication works by blocking the effect of a certain natural substance on the bladder.
