Suvexx (Sumatriptan/Naproxen) is a medication used to treat migraine headaches with or without aura in adults and children over the age of 12 years old. Suvexx is a combination of two common acute migraine medications in one tablet, Sumatriptan 85 mg and Naproxen sodium 500 mg. Sumatriptan belongs to the class of medications called triptans and it relieves migraine headache by constricting the blood vessels in the brain. It may also relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain. Naproxen belongs to a group of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and it stops the body from producing chemicals that cause pain and swelling. This medication is not recommended for other types of headaches or to prevent headaches.
