Stablon (Tianeptine) is a prescription medication used major depressive disorder. It may also be used to treat anxiety, asthma and irritable bowel syndrome. Tianeptine is a unique tricyclic antidepressant, in contrast to SSRIs, it increases 5-HT reuptake. Tianeptine works by acting on the mu opioid receptor, the target of morphine and oxycodone. The usual recommended dose is 12.5 mg three times a day.

You should not take Stablon if you are allergic to Tianeptine or if you have any other allergies. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medication because it may make you feel very drowsy and worsen your symptoms of depression and increase anxiety.
