Solian (Amisulpiride) is a prescription medication used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, and emotional and social withdrawal. Solian is also used to treat post-operative nausea or vomiting. The active ingredient in Solian is Amisulpiride. Amisulpiride belongs to a class of drugs called antipsychotics. It works by altering the action of dopamine in the brain.

We currently offer the brand Solian from Turkey manufactured by Sanofi Aventis and from India manufactured by Sanofi and Pfizer (Amisant). The generic Amisulpiride is not available.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while taking Solian. The most common side effects of Solian may include the following:
• Dizziness;
• Constipation;
• Insomnia;
• Weight gain

Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Abnormal movements mainly in the face, mouth, or tongue;
• Faster breathing;
• Unexplained infections

There may be drug interactions between Solian and quinidine, bepridil, cisapride, erythromycin, halofantrine, levodopa, clozapine, etc. Avoid tramadol, pimozide, verapamil, lithium, or morphine with Solian. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Using Solian in pregnancy, especially in the last trimester, can harm a fetus and cause congenital disabilities when the baby is born. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Amisulpiride passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Take Solian precisely as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of water before a meal. Take the oral solution by mouth. Measure your dose with the graduated syringe. Take the oral solution before a meal with a drink that does not contain alcohol. Alcohol can affect the way the medicine works. Solian may blur your vision or make you drowsy. Do not drive or use machines till you know how this drug affects you. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store the tablets below 300C. Store the solution below 250C.
