Sebcur (Salicylic Acid) is an over-the-counter medication used to control symptoms of stubborn seborrhea or psoriasis of the scalp. The shampoo helps to control itching, redness, and scaling and restores a normal scalp oil balance. Scalp psoriasis is a chronic and noncontagious condition that causes the skin cells on the scalp to reproduce too quickly, resulting in thick, discolored patches of skin called plaques. The active ingredient in Sebcur is Salicylic Acid. Salicylic Acid belongs to a class of medications called keratolytic agents. It works by breaking down and dissolving plaque on the scalp while increasing moisture to stop it from forming.
