Rasilez is a direct renin inhibitor and is used to reduce blood pressure by decreasing substances in the body that narrow blood vessels and raise blood pressure. Its generic equivalent name is aliskiren.

Manufacturer Information

We currently only carry brand name Rasilez, manufactured by Novartis in the 150mg and 300mg dosage. Both dosages are available in the quantity of 84 tablets and will be distributed from our Canadian Pharmacy.

Contact your doctor right away if you experience any of the following serious side effects:

• Any sign of an allergic reaction:
o Hives
o Vomiting
o Severe stomach pain
o Dizziness
o Difficulty breathing
o Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Lightheadedness, or feeling as thought you might pass out
• Little to no urination
• Evidence of high potassium levels in the body:
o Nausea
o Slow or unusual heart rate
o Weakness
o Loss of movement
• Evidence of low sodium levels in the body:
o Headache
o Confusion
o Slurred speech
o Severe weakness
o Vomiting
o Loss of coordination

Less serious side effects to watch for include:

• Dizziness
• Tiredness
• Cough
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Back pain
• Flu symptoms (fever, chills, body aches

Customer Precautions

Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or nursing, as it can cause harm to a nursing or unborn infant. Stop taking this medication as soon as you find out you’re pregnant and talk to your doctor right away. Do not combine Rasilez with other heart or blood pressure medications. If you have diabetes or kidney disease, be sure to talk to your doctor about the medications you may be on, because many can have a drug interaction with Rasilez. Talk with your doctor about whether or not Rasilez is right for you, especially if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, are on a low-salt diet, of if you have ever had an allergic reaction to an ACE inhibitor or heart and/or blood pressure medicine. This medication is not approved for anyone under the age of 18 years.
