Qulipta (Atogepant) is a prescription medication used for the preventative treatment of episodic and chronic migraine in adults. Migraine is a moderate or severe headache that is felt as a throbbing pain on one side of the head. Symptoms of migraines include feeling sick, being sick, and experiencing increased sensitivity to light or sound. The active ingredient in Qulipta is Atogepant. Atogepant belongs to a class of drugs called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the CGRP protein from attaching to the CGRP receptors in the brain and nervous system, preventing migraine attacks.
