Pred Forte (Prednisolone Acetate) is steroid eye drop medication used to treat inflammation caused by allergies, severe acne, shingles, eye injuries, chemical burns, or other conditions. The usual recommended start dose is 1%/5ml eye drops.

The brand Pred Forte is manufactured by Allergan and currently comes from Canada and India. The generic Prednisolone Acetate comes from Canada manufactured by a different manufacturer. It may come from other international countries. Pred Forte is available in a 1%/5ml and 1%/10ml suspension dosage.
Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking Prednisolone Acetate.
• Difficulty breathing;
• Hives;
• Swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat
Stop taking Pred Forte and call your doctor at once if you have one of these serious side effects:
• Blurred vision;
• Eye pain;
• Tunnel vision;
• Seeing halos around lights;
• Signs of eye infection:
o Crusting
o Drainage
o Redness
o Severe discomfort
o Swelling
• Small white or yellow patches on the surface of your eye
Less serious side effects of Prednisolone Acetate may include: Mild stinging, burning, or irritation of the treated eye(s).

Pred Forte should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor about your medical history to be sure you can safely take Pred Forte. In particular, let them know if you have ever had: glaucoma or cataracts. You should not take Pred Forte if you are allergic to Prednisolone Acetate or if you have an eye infection. It isn’t known how this medication might affect an unborn or nursing infant. You shouldn’t take Pred Forte while pregnant or nursing without discussing the risks with your doctor. This medication is not approved for anyone younger than 18 years of age. There may be an interaction between Pred Forte and other medications, though side effects are unlikely with eye medications. Talk to your doctor about any medications or herbal supplements you are currently taking.
