PolyLax (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) is an over-the-counter medication used to treat occasional constipation. Constipation occurs when bowel movements become less frequent, and stools become difficult to pass. The active ingredient in PolyLax is Polyethylene Glycol 3350. Polyethylene Glycol 3350 belongs to a class of medications called osmotic-type laxatives. It works by holding water in the stool to soften it and increase bowel movements.
