Loprox (Ciclopirox Olamine) is a prescription topical cream, gel and lotion used for the treatment of athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm and yeast infections. The Ciclopirox shampoo is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis. Ciclopirox belongs to the group of medications known as antifungals. This medication is an antifungal that works by stopping the growth of fungus. Loprox is also used to treat skin condition known as pityriasis, a fungal infection that causes a lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms and legs.

The common side effects of Loprox may include burning, itching, redness or stinging at the application site. Inform your doctor right away if you have any of the serious but unlikely side effects including blistering, oozing or swelling at the application site.
A very serious allergic reaction to this medication is rare, talk to you doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction such as:
• Itching or swelling;
• Rash;
• Severe dizziness;
• Trouble breathing
