linzess constella canada

Linzess (Linaclotide) is a prescription medication that is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults. This medication works by increasing fluid in your intestines and helps speed up movement of food through the gut. Linaclotide may improve stool texture and lessen symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain/discomfort, straining, and feelings of incomplete bowel movements.

In a study (Linaclotide for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation - Nov 2012), William D Chey, found that " Linaclotide 290 µg once daily significantly improved abdominal and bowel symptoms associated with IBS-C over 26 weeks of treatment.".

In another study (Low-Dose Linaclotide (72?µg) for Chronic Idiopathic Constipation - August 22, 2017), Philip Schoenfeld, MD, Once-daily linaclotide 72?µg significantly improved CIC symptoms in both men and women with a low rate of discontinuation due to diarrhea over 12 weeks of treatment.".
