Lasix (Furosemide) is a water pill that is used to treat fluid retention by eliminating water and salt from the body in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disorder such as nephrotic syndrome. This medication may also be used to treat high blood pressure. Furosemide works by eliminating water and salt from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced and excreted.
