Hydrasense (seawater solution) is an over-the-counter medication used to treat dryness inside the eyes. The drug adds moisture inside the nose to dissolve and soften thick, crusty mucus. Dry nose occurs from blowing your nose too often. Living in areas with dry weather, smoking, and medical conditions like Sjogren syndrome increases the risk of developing a dry nose. Hydrasense is also used to relieve dry, irritated eyes. The active ingredient in Hydrasense is seawater solution. It belongs to a class of drugs called crystalloids. It works by flushing out excessive mucus accumulation, relieving congestion, and helping you breathe better. It also lubricates and moisturizes the eyes, protecting them from dryness.

Manufacturer Information

We currently offer the brand Hydrasense from Canada manufactured by Bayer in the strength of 10 ml eye drops and 100 ml nasal spray. The generic seawater solution is not available.

This drug is considered safe when breastfeeding and should not pose a risk to a nursing infant. Use Hydrasense precisely as prescribed by your doctor. For the nasal spray, place the applicator over the bottle, bend your head over a sink, and tilt your head to the side. Insert the applicator in your upper nostril and press down for about 2 seconds. Blow your nose and repeat on the other side. Remove the applicator and rinse with hot water. Dry thoroughly. For the eye drops, wash your hands before applying. Remove the cap and hold the bottle upside down over one eye. Hold your lower eyelid to create a pocket for the eyedrop. Squeeze the bottle gently to instill a drop of the eyedrop. Close your eye slowly and allow an even liquid distribution on the eye surface. Close the Hydrasense eyedrop bottle. Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Store at room temperature.
