Geodon (Ziprasidone) is an antipsychotic medication that is used to treat schizophrenia and the manic symptoms of bipolar disorder in adults and children who are at least 10 years old. Ziprasidone works by changing the effects of chemicals in the brain, it helps to restore the balance of certain natural substances in the brain. This medication can help you to think more clearly and positively about yourself and take a more active part in your everyday life. Geodon may also be used in combination with other medications to treat depression.

We currently have the brand name Geodon coming from Turkey and Canada manufactured by Pfizer. The generic Zipsydon comes from India. This medication is available in the strength of 20mg, 40mg, 60mg and 80mg.
Common side effects may include:
• Body aches, chills, flu symptoms, fever;
• Feeling light-headed, fast or pounding heartbeat;
• Nervousness;
• Stiffness of the limbs;
• Uncontrolled movements
Serious side effects may include:
• Fainting;
• Painful erection;
• Severe dizziness;
• Seizures
You should not use Geodon if you are allergic to Ziprasidone or if you have a history of recent heart attack and untreated heart failure. This medication should not be used in psychotic conditions related to dementia. Ziprasidone may increase your blood sugar level. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about the other medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is unknown whether Ziprasidone passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not breast-feed while using this medication. There may be an interaction between Ziprasidone and other medications such as fluconazole, azithromycin, quinine, amitriptyline, trazodone, tamoxifen, etc.
