Eucrisa (Crisaborole) ointment is a prescription medication that used for the treatment of mild to moderate eczema (atopic dermatitis) in adults and children 3 months of age and older. Eucrisa is a nonsteroidal topical medication and first approved ointment that helps lock in your skin's moisture and act as a protective barrier. This ointment reduces swelling, redness and itching on the skin. Crisaborole belongs to a class of medications called phosphodiesterase inhibitors, or a boron-containing PDE4 inhibitor, although its mechanism of action for atopic dermatitis is unknown. It works by mainly targeting phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) enzyme and suppressing immune system activity, and results in increased intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels. Use Eucrisa exactly as prescribed. Other anti-inflammatory skincare products can include: Protopic, Elidel

[Crisaborole 2% Ointment (Eucrisa) for Atopic Dermatitis]. – 2019, TE Woo, P Kuzel - Skin therapy letter, found that "While the efficacy of crisaborole compared to existing therapies remains unknown, crisaborole is a promising candidate in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.”
