Emflex (Acemetacin) is used to ease pain and reduce inflammation in people with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It may also be prescribed to ease pain after surgical operations. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as NSAIDs. It works by blocking the production of chemicals that cause inflammation and pain.

We currently offer the brand Emflex from Turkey also called Rantudil Forte by Bayer. The generic version is not available.

Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this medication. The common side effects of Emflex may include constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, feeling agitated, gas, headache, indigestion or heartburn, and nausea. Stop taking Emflex and contact your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:
• Black stools;
• Difficulty breathing;
• Severe abdominal pain

Before taking Emflex, tell your doctor if you have any allergies, or are allergic to ibuprofen or aspirin. Prior to taking this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history and if you have ever had:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding;
• Blood clotting problems;
• Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis;
• Epilepsy or Parkinson's disease;
• Heart problems or circulation problems;
• High blood pressure;
• Liver problems;
• Lupus;
• Mental health problems;
• Peptic or duodenal ulcer

Avoid alcohol while using this medication, it can irritate the gut and increase the risk of internal stomach bleeding. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Emflex and other medications.
