Detrol LA (Tolterodine) is used to treat people with overactive bladders with symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, or involuntary loss of urine. Tolterodine belongs to a group of medications known as antispasmodics and anticholinergics. This medication works by preventing contractions or spasms of the bladder.

We currently have the brand from Canada and Turkey manufactured by Pfizer. The generic Terol LA comes from India and is manufactured by Cipla. This medication is available in the strengths of 2mg and 4mg capsules.
Common side effects include:
• Bloody or cloudy urine;
• Frequent urge to urinate;
• Painful or difficult urination, burning;
• Vision changes, difficulty with adjusting to distances
Severe side effects include:
• Chest pain;
• Shortness of breath or trouble breathing;
• Tightness of the chest or wheezing;
• Vomiting
Do not take Detrol if you are allergic to tolterodine or fesoterodine (Toviaz). Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about all the medications including OTC and herbal medications. It is unknown whether Detrol will harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. It is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Detrol may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Drinking alcohol can increase some of the side effects of Detrol.
