Coveram (Amlodipine/Perindopril) is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed for coronary heart disease. Amlodipine belongs to the class of medications known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Perindopril belongs to the class of drugs known as ACE inhibitors and it relaxes and widens the blood vessels. This lowers the blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. You may be able to help prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems by lowering your high blood pressure.
