Constella (Linaclotide) also marketed under the name of Linzess is a prescription oral medication that is used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation and chronic constipation with an unknown cause. Linaclotide belongs to the class of drugs called guanylate cyclase-C agonists. This medication works by increasing fluid in your intestines and helping with the movement. It improves stool texture and lessens symptoms such as abdominal pain or discomfort, bloating, feelings of incomplete bowel movements and straining. Constella should be used in children younger than 6 years old.
