Several factors, including diet, medical conditions, and pregnancy, can cause it. The drug is used to supplement a healthy diet and support overall health. The active ingredient in Centrum is Multivitamins. Multivitamins belong to a class of medications called dietary supplements. It works by supplementing your body with essential vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function correctly. Your body absorbs these nutrients and utilizes them for various functions such as energy production, cell growth and repair, bone health, and immune function.

• Changes in bowel movements;
• Constipation;
• Diarrhea;
• Headache;
• Upset stomach
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Black, tarry, or bloody stools;
• Severe stomach upset;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat;
• Throwing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds

You should not use Centrum if you are allergic to Multi Vitamins or any ingredient in Centrum. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:

There may be drug interactions between the Centrum and other medicines, such as tetracycline, levothyroxine, alendronate, coumadin, levodopa, etc. Avoid Centrum with penicillamine, ciprofloxacin, and phenytoin. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Centrum is not expected to harm an unborn baby or a pregnant woman. However, discuss the benefits and risks of using this medicine in pregnancy with your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. This medication passes into breast milk and may harm an unborn baby. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Centrum comes as tablets. Take this medication by mouth, as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water. This medication is best taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If a stomach upset occurs, you may take this medication with food. Avoid taking antacids, dairy products, tea, or coffee within 2 hours before or after this medication because they may decrease its effectiveness. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking the tablets. Centrum is not a substitute for a balanced diet. The medication is only a supplement. Prioritize a balanced diet of whole foods. Ensure your diet is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean protein. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Always keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to prevent moisture from entering and affecting the potency of the vitamins. Keep out of the reach of children.
