Ceftin (Cefuroxime Axetil) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat many different kinds of bacterial infections, including pneumonia, skin and middle ear infections, tonsillitis, throat infections, laryngitis, bronchitis, urinary tract infections and gonorrhea. Ceftin works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Take this medication for the entire length of time prescribed by your doctor. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely treated. Ceftin will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.

Canadian Pharmacy King currently offers the brand Ceftin from India also called Ceftum manufactured by GSK in the strength of 125 mg tablets. The Ceftin suspension comes from Canada and Turkey also called Zinnat suspension manufactured by GSK in the strength of 125 mg/5 ml/100 ml. The generic Cefuroxime Axetil comes from Canada by a different manufacturer in the strength of 250 mg and 500 mg tablets.
Common side effects of Ceftin include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, an unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth, or diaper rash in an infant using liquid Ceftin. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice more serious side effects such as severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, jaundice, skin rash, easy bruising, severe tingling or numbness, seizures, or signs of kidney problems. If you notice any more serous side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Cefuroxime or other similar antibiotics, including penicillin, or other cephalosporin medications. To make sure this medication is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, a history of intestinal problems such as colitis, diabetes, or if you are malnourished. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding to discuss any possible risks. Ceftin can make birth control pills less effective. Ask your doctor about using a non hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy. Ceftin is not approved for use by anyone under 3 months old.
