Amoxil (Amoxicillin) is prescription medication used to treat different types of bacterial infections including bronchitis, gonorrhea, pneumonia, and infections of the ears, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract. Amoxicillin belongs to a class of medications called penicillin antibiotics. It works by fighting the growth of bacteria in your body. Amoxil is also sometimes used in combination with other medications to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection (H. pylori). It will not work for colds, flu, and other viral infections. Take Amoxil exactly prescribed.

We currently have the generic Amoxicillin comes from Canada (also called Novamoxin) manufactured by Teva and India (also known as Novamox) manufactured by Cipla. Amoxil is available in one strength of 500 mg capsules. Brand Amoxil is not available now.
The most common side effects of Amoxil include:
• Black, swollen, or “hairy” tongue;
• Diarrhea;
• Headache;
• Nausea;
• Stomach pain;
• Vaginal itching or discharge;
• Vomiting;
