Advantage Dog (Imidacloprid) is a prescription medication used to treat and prevent fleas and lice on dogs. The drug kills adult fleas, flea larvae, flea eggs, and lice on contact. Scabbing, hair loss, scratching, restlessness, and crusted skin in infected areas are signs of a flea infestation. Symptoms of lice infestation in dogs include itching, hair loss, and visible lice on the fur. The active ingredient in Advantage Dog is Imidacloprid. Imidacloprid belongs to a class of drugs called insecticides. It works by causing a dysfunction in the nervous systems of insects to kill them.

We currently offer the brand Advantage Dog from India manufactured by Bayer in the strength of 0.4ml, 1ml, 2.5ml, and 4 ml packs. The generic Imidacloprid is not available.
Get medical help immediately if your dog has any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Advantage Dog. The most common side effects of Advantage Dog may include the following:
• Diarrhea;
• Drooling;
• Signs of skin irritation, such as redness or scratching;
• Vomiting
Contact your veterinarian right away if your dog has any of the severe side effects, including:
• Appetite loss;
• Excessive grooming;
• Hyperactivity;
• Increased thirst;
• Lethargy
These are not all of the side effects of Advantage Dog. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not use Advantage Dog on your pet if it is allergic to Imidacloprid or any ingredient in Advantage Dog. Before you start applying this medication, tell your veterinarian about your dog’s medical history, especially if it is:

• Pregnant
Tell your veterinarian about all your dog’s medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Imidacloprid and other medicines. Tell your doctor if your dog is breeding or pregnant. Advantage Dog is safe for use in breeding and pregnant drugs. Inform your doctor if your dog is lactating. Imidacloprid is not expected to harm nursing dogs. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Advantage Dog as a tube for topical administration. Do not administer this drug orally to your dog. Do not apply more than one tube per treatment. Advantage Dog is for use on dogs only. Please do not use it on other animals. Your dog should be dry before the application. Part the hair on your dog’s back between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tube tip on the skin and gently squeeze it to expel the contents directly into the skin. Repeat the treatment monthly or as required. If your dog wears a decorative collar, remove it before application so it doesn’t absorb the product. Do not get this product in your dog’s eyes or allow your dog to ingest it. Avoid inhaling or swallowing this drug. Avoid contact with eyes. If the product comes in contact with your eyes, wash it out immediately. Wash your hands after applying Advantage Dog. This drug is available in different volumes for different dog weight classes. Use the appropriate medicine for your dog’s weight class. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
